Networks, hotspot and activation in Germany

Your route matters

Save tickets and maps before rail journeys and remote Black Forest travel. Onboard Wi-Fi still depends on external mobile coverage; a listed eSIM network does not establish continuous reception along a train route.

Check the exact package

Check cross-border stops separately. Holafly domestic-use eligibility depends on where the customer is based at purchase, with the entire EU domestic for EU-based customers at purchase. BNESIM expiring validity starts at purchase by default or a scheduled date; one-time use requires Auto-renewal OFF.

Install and activate separately

Installation adds a profile to your phone. The plan’s paid validity follows its own activation rule. The expanded notes on each card distinguish confirmed terms from missing details.

Berlin and Munich do not establish Black Forest reception

Saily lists German cities including Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. Holafly warns that reception may weaken in remote forests, mountains and roads far from towns, including points in the Black Forest. Check your route and save essential information before remote trips; named networks are not reception tests.

Save tickets, connections and maps before departure. Deutsche Bahn explains that an onboard Wi-Fi connection still needs external mobile coverage to reach the internet, including in tunnels. A Germany eSIM network listing does not guarantee continuous internet along an ICE route.

The recorded BNESIM Germany offers contain 5, 10 or 20 GB over 30 days. The specific expiring-plan FAQ says validity starts at purchase by default or on a scheduled activation date; do not assume arrival starts it. One-time use requires Auto-renewal OFF. Payment-stage defaults were not verified; enabling renewal can trigger another purchase at expiry or data exhaustion. Fixed-plan hotspot support is confirmed without a separate numerical cap.
